I'm a visual artist, illustrator, photographer, poet and teacher.



I spent a lot of time and a kid reading comic book, sci-fi books and magazines, and watching classic monster movies with my mom. Very early on, I knew I wanted to be an artist and spent a lot of library time looking through art books, heavy metal magazine and discovering the joys of anime. Eventually, a high school teacher saw something in me that I didn't and made sure I went to college and was key in my attending Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle. A well-meaning gesture that I deeply appreciate, though I found the environment entirely too restrictive.

Now, I feel I've found my voice as an artist, equal parts macabre and whimsy. I have an affinity for all things steampunk, enjoy the High Victorian Gothic style and sensibility. This doesn't preclude me from doing work in other styles, but this is where I feel most at home and this site is primarily devoted to the notion that lurking in the dark are things of beauty...and other things, that while not "pretty" might still deserve look. After all, we are often afraid of what we don't see hiding in the shadows...here...let me light a candle for you...
